Eufy RoboVac
Eufy RoboVac

If you are the kind of person who is busy with work and raising children, and find it difficult to sweep and clean the floor the Eufy RoboVac is a smart device that can do it for you and give you more time to relax.

The Eufy RoboVac is a robot vacuum that will scan your house and build a virtual map to clean every corner of your house from dirt, dust, and pet hair, this appliance can operate for up to 180 minutes by cleaning different kinds of floors like hard, wooden floors, and carpets and avoid all physical obstacles such as chairs, tables or stairs.

Many people who want to buy this device are asking if it works with Alexa? The answer is yes Eufy RoboVac can be controlled by Alexa-enabled gadgets like Echo Dot, Echo Show, Echo Spot, and more to give you the ability to run and stop this robot by using simple voice commands.

In this article I am going to show you the steps to follow in order to connect your Eufy robot vacuum with Alexa and what are the commands to use in order to control it through your voice and much more other things, so see you below.

How to connect Eufy RoboVac to Alexa?

In this chapter I am going to teach you the steps to connect your Eufy RoboVac with Alexa but first, make sure that the robot is already connected with the EufyHome app, and the Alexa app is installed in your phone or tablet and you already have an account.

If all these conditions are available go and follow the instructions below to pair Amazon Alexa with your robot vacuum:

  1. Open the Alexa app on your mobile or tablet.
  2. Tap on the three bar menu at the bottom right of the screen.
  3. Select Skills & Games, then go to the search bar and search for EufyHome.
  4. Choose the “EufyHome – RoboVac” skill because it’s used for Robovac.
  5. Tap on the blue button that show Enable To Use.
  6. Then login to your EufyHome account by enterring your email and password.
  7. A message will appear saying “Your EufyHome-RoboVac account has been successfully linked”, tap Close.
  8. Discover Devices screen will appear, tap Cancel.
  9. Open your Alexa app and go to Devices your robot should be automatically discovered.

If two or more RoboVac devices are added to the EufyHome app and you use Alexa to control them, you need to rename each one of them in the Alexa app by following the next steps:

  1. Open the Alexa app.
  2. Tap “Devices” at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll across the top and select All devices.
  4. Then select your Eufy RoboVac.
  5. Tap the gear icon at the top right corner of the screen.
  6. Tap Edit Name and rename your robot.

Or you can rename it on the EufyHome app but I don’t recommend this option because it requires your Alexa device to rediscover the robot in order for the new name to be reflected in the Alexa app, which means additional work.

But in case you want to rename it on the Eufy app here’s how:

  1. Make sure that your RoboVac is connected to home WiFi and shows online on the EufyHome app.
  2. Select the vacuum that you want to rename.
  3. Tap the three dots on the top right corner.
  4. Click the pen icon to edit RoboVac’s name.
  5. Change the name and tap Save.

Note: Make sure to use names that are easy to pronounce and easy to hear for Alexa voice assistant and must not contain an emoji or special characters.

If you want to receive the notifications sent by your Eufy RoboVac on your Alexa-enabled devices you need to deactivate the Do Not Disturb mode and here are the steps to do that:

  1. Launch the Alexa app.
  2. Open “Devices”, then select “Echo & Alexa”.
  3. Choose your device.
  4. Select “Do Not Disturb”.
  5. Turn Do Not Disturb off.

Alexa voice command to use with your Eufy RoboVac.

As we mentioned before to control your robot vacuum cleaner with Alexa gadgets, you need to know some voice commands and use them when you want to start or stop the device, and here I will show the commands you will rely on to manage your vacuum cleaner:

  • “Alexa, ask RoboVac to start cleaning”.
  • “Alexa, ask RoboVac to stop cleaning”.
  • “Alexa, ask RoboVac to go home”.
  • “Alexa, ask RoboVac to find my robot”.

And if you’re using more than one robot to control with Alexa use the next commands:

  • “Alexa, ask RoboVac (robot name) to start cleaning”.
  • “Alexa, ask RoboVac (robot name) to stop cleaning”.
  • “Alexa, ask RoboVac (robot name) to go home”.
  • “Alexa, ask RoboVac (robot name) to find my robot”.

Replace (robot name) with the name you assigned to your robot.

Note: for these commands to work properly the RoboVac needs to be online and also connected and linked to your EufyHome app.

If your robot is having connection issues, here are some tips that may help.
