TP-Link Kasa products like plugs, switches, and light bulbs are very popular in the market and they provide many features to their users to make their home smarter and they can be controlled remotely from a mobile app or a voice assistant like Alexa or Google Home, and they can let you set a schedule to turn on lights or run other home devices.

The Kasa app has a lot to offer such as configuring, monitoring, and controlling your connected TP-LINK smart home gadgets or setting a schedule and turning on the Away mode, but many people are asking if their devices work with SmartThings?

Of course, Kasa devices can work perfectly with the SmartThing app in order to automate and integrate them with other home gadgets such as your TV, door lock, smart cameras, and so on.

What you can do with Kasa and SmartThings integration?

As we mentioned before you can control these TP-Link devices from the Kasa mobile app, so what are the features that the SmartThings app will give you.

  1. Single app control: Controlling each smart gadget from its own app will lower the convenience and the comfort and take you more time when managing your smart home, so the SmartThings service will give you a unified way to control and monitor all smart devices in one app including your Kasa products.
  2. Automation & scenes: In the Kasa app you’re only able to automate Kasa products but with the SmartThings service you can create scenes with different brands and multiple smart appliances, you can set up automation to run at certain times or during certain periods, for example:
    • Turn on my bedroom lights when motion is detected.
    • Switch the living room light color to blue when someone rings the doorbell.
  3. It offers easy setup, custom rule building, and sharing for convenience and safety.
