  4. Select “Add Device”, then select “plug” and choose “TP-Link Kasa” brand.
  5. Hit “Continue, then tap “Enable To Use” and log in to your Kasa account.
  6. Another screen will appear telling you that “TP-LINK Kasa has been successfully linked”, tap Done.
  7. Then click on the blue button “Discover Devices” (the process may take 45 seconds).
  8. If Alexa fails to discover your plug:
    • Reboot the smart plug and re-discover on Alexa.
    • Double-check whether Kasa App can remotely control the device or not. If not, check your internet access and remote control settings.
  9. Your device will be discovered, click on “SET UP DEVICE”.
  10. Now You can choose a Group for the Kasa plug or you can SKIP this step.
  11. Tap on “DONE” to finish the setup process.

The remote control feature in the Kasa plugs that come with a Wifi range extender like “RE270K” or “RE370K” is disabled by default so you need to enable it manually, and here’s how:

  1. Ensure that the plug is configured successfully on the Kasa app.
  2. Connect your phone to the RE270K/RE370K’s Wi-Fi name.
  3. Launch the Kasa app on your smartphone or tablet.
  4. Find the Wi-Fi extender, then select the desired device.
  5. Tap on the gear icon at the top right corner of the screen.
  6. Click on the Remote Control Slider and make sure you see the “Green” color.
  7. Now the remote control option is enabled.

If you want to receive notification from the Kasa plug on your Echo speaker, display you have to deactivate the Do Not Disturb mode, and here’s how to do it:

  1. Launch the Alexa app.
  2. Go to Devices, then choose “Echo & Alexa”.
  3. Select your device.
  4. Then tap on “Do Not Disturb”.
  5. Turn Do Not Disturb off.

Important: If you change the plug name on the Kasa app you will need to discover this device again to update the name.

  2. click on Devices at the bottom right of the screen.

  5. Tap the gear icon at the top right corner of the screen.
  6. Tap Edit Name and rename your plug.
