Solution 1: Download the YI Home App for PC or Mac.

YI has developed an application, especially for those who want to watch the footage recorded by the camera on a computer and they have made two versions one for Windows and another one for Mac.

This app lets you view the live feed and cloud footage from all your cams, your motion and sound detected clips appear in chronological order (Up to 9 cameras can be viewed on one screen at the same time).

Here’s how to download and access the app:

Note: If you own a Mac you have the choice to download the app directly from the App Store or follow the same instructions as we do with Windows.

1. Go to this website: www.yitechnology.com
2. Go to support in the top bar and choose “Firmware & App”.
3. Scroll down and find “YI Home App for Mac or Windows PC”.
4. Tap on the Download button.
5. Once the app is downloaded click on it and log in to your YI account.
6. Your cameras will appear on the left of the platform (just double-click them to see the live feed).

Important: The YI Home computer app is used only to watch live view and recorded clips not to change settings.

The second solution is easier than the first one and it’s available for people who are using local storage (storing clips on an SD card, not on the cloud), this method requires you to upload the footage stored on the SD card on your computer then watch it directly using a video player.

1. Take the SD card off the camera.
2. Put it on a micro SD card reader.
3. Plug the micro SD card reader on your computer.
4. Then access and view the files using a media player.

Solution 3: Cast your phone or tablet screen to your computer.

Casting your smartphone and tablet screen lets you mirror the device to the computer so you can enjoy your content exactly as you see it on your mobile device, but on a larger screen.

This method will allow you to watch the live view and all your YI captured clips on your computer, but first, you need to access it on your phone or tablet and cast the screen to your computer.

Note: Casting your Phone or tablet to your computer requires you to have an internet connection.

Here’s how to cast an Android device:

1. Go to Settings and search for “cast”, then click the search result.
2. Select Cast, then Tap the 3 dots on the top right corner and tick mark “Enable Wireless Display”.
3. Your PC Device name should now appear, Tap on it.
4. Your Android display will now be cast to your PC.
5. Go to your YI Home app and access the footage or live view and it will appear on your computer.

And here’s how to cast the IOS device:

1. Open the Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of the device screen or swiping down from the top right corner of the screen (varies by device and iOS version).

3. Select your computer.

3. from this website download BlueStacks and install it on your PC just like you do with any other application.
4. Once installed, Open the BlueStacks on the computer.
5. Click on the Play Store and log in to your Google Play account.
