  2. Go to the lock circle screen (the screen that shows you whether your door is locked or unlocked).
  3. Tap on the gear icon.
  4. Choose the lock you wish to reset.
  5. Scroll to factory reset, then select “Reset Lock”.

Note: You need to be in the Bluetooth range in order to perform the factory reset process or you’ll receive a message saying “Trouble Connecting to Lock” if it’s impossible for you to be in the Bluetooth range select “Reset Anyway” when you receive the notification.

Delete the account.

If you reset the lock and remove it from the app and you’ll no longer need the August account you can follow the instructions below to delete it:

  1. Go to this website and log in.
  2. If you use your email to log in, a verification code will be sent to your email.
  3. If you use your mobile number to log in, you will receive a verification code over SMS.
  4. Enter the verification code to complete the login.
  5. Choose the Delete Account from the menu on the left.

How to add a guest to your August Lock.

It’s important to give access to family members, friends, and services listed in your contacts with August as this feature will give them the ability to enter your house when no one is there.

You’ll always receive notifications on your smartphone when one of these guests opens and close your door, and you can delete them anytime you want.

Here are the steps to follow in order to add a guest:

  1. Launch the August App on an IOS or Android device.
  2. Tap on the Guest Icon from the menu on the lower right of the screen.
  3. Choose to Invite and then choose an invite option.
  4. Enter the guest’s phone number or select them from your contact list to invite them to use your lock.
  5. Select Send Invite once you have added your guest and designated their access level and type.
  6. The guest will receive a text notification to download the app.
  7. After downloading the app and log in to the account Your guest should choose the button that says “I RECEIVED AN INVITE”.
  8. Now the invitee is added to the Guest List and your August Lock will be added to the guest keychain.

What a guest can do?

The guest will not have the same power on the lock as the owner and he will not be able to invite/remove guests and owners, use Auto-Unlock, view the activity feed and guest list, or adjust the lock settings.

So the only thing he can do is to Lock and unlock the door via the August App (over Bluetooth).
