9 Ways To Fix Eufy Doorbell Chime Not Working.

Having the Eufy Video Doorbell in your home is considered a smart way to increase safety and security and monitor your front door remotely from your smartphone or tablet, this device offers 2K video resolution, AI body and face detecion, two-way audio and many other features that will help you secure your property.

When someone presses the doorbell, it will ring automatically in your house but sometimes it won’t due to many issues like power or settings problems, the chime is not connected to the doorbell, the volume is too low etc.

In the following chapters of this article, I will teach you how to get your chime back to work without having to ask anyone for help.

How to troubleshoot Eufy doorbell chime?

So the chime is an essential piece to get alerted when someone ring the doorbell and in the following sections we’re going to explore all solutions you can use to resolve this problem.

Check the power outlet.

If there is no electricity supplying the chime, plug it into another outlet, and if the chime does not light up after changing the outlet while other electrical devices are working well, it means the chime may be defective, so contact Eufy Customer Support for a warranty replacement.

Also when you have a wire-free doorbell and the Battery is dead the chime will not ring, so go and recharge it in order to get it back to work.

Adjust the volume.

Maybe you’re not hearing the chime just because the volume is too low, so locate the volume button on the right side of the chime and adjust the ringing volume.

Turn On the Chime Alert.

In order to get alerted on your chime when someone press the doorbell the “Chime Alert” option need to be activated on the eufySecurity app, so follow the steps below to switch it On:

  1. Open the eufySecurity app on your mobile or tablet.
  2. Tap the Setting button of Doorbell in Device tab.
  3. Then go to Doorbell Settings.
  4. Select Audio Setting, then Chime Alert.
  5. Turn On the Chime Alert.

Make sure the chime is connected with the doorbell.

You should notice the light that is indicated by the chime if there’s no light that means your chime is powered off.

And if it’s flashing blue that means your chime is disconnected from the doorbell and you should reconnect by following the instructions below:

  1. Go to the eufySecurity app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Select the Setting button of Doorbell in Device tab.
  3. Then go to Doorbell Settings.
  4. Choose Indoor Chime.
  5. Then Connect.

If the doorbell is offline due to power, the doorbell and chime will be disconnected. You can test the chime by pressing the doorbell’s button.

Turn Off Do Not Disturb mode on Amazon Alexa devices.

Eufy doorbells can use Alexa devices such as Echo Dot or Echo Show as a chime and when the Do Not Disturb mode is activated on those gadgets you’ll never get alerted, so make sure to turn this option Off and here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to the the Alexa app.
  2. Open “Devices”, then select “Echo & Alexa”.
  3. Choose your device.
  4. Select “Do Not Disturb”.
  5. Turn Do Not Disturb off.

You can adjust the volume of Echo devices by saying “Alexa, set the volume to [1-10].” or press the + button directly on the smart speaker or by following the next steps:

  1. Open the Alexa app.
  2. Select the Menu icon in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Choose Settings, then Device Settings and tap on the Echo device you want to change.
  4. Adjust the audio slider to change the volume.

Enable the Homebase alert.

The HomeBase speaker can also act as a chime for your doorbell all you need to do is to enable the the Homebase alert and it will alarm when the doorbell is pushed.

You can adjust the ringtone type and volume in the app by going to the Doorbell Setting, then to Indoor Chime and choose HomeBase as a chime.

Reset the chime.

Resetting your chime can get it back to work as it considered an important troubleshooting step when your device is not working, and here’s how to do it:

  1. Make sure the Wifi chime is plugged into a wall outlet.
  2. Lift up both antennas and find the reset hole.
  3. Pick a paperclip or a needle.
  4. Use the paperclip and press the reset hole for 10 seconds until the chime resets.

Note: If you proceed with the reset process, you’ll have to reconnect the chime to the app.

Check your internet connection.

If you’re using a Wifi chime or relying on the Echo device to chime and there’s no internet connection you’ll never get alerted, so make sure your internet subscription plan hasn’t expired yet if it is the case go and power cycle your modem or router and check if the internet is back.

When the doorbell chime won’t stop ringing:

If the your doorbell is activated repeatedly and the chime rings automatically with no one presses the device, try the following solutions.

Re-add the indoor chime in the eufySecurity app:

  1. Open the eufySecurity app.
  2. Select the Setting button of Doorbell in Device tab.
  3. Choose Doorbell Settings.
  4. Then Indoor Chime and Connect.

Unplug the indoor chime:

Leave the indoor chime unplugged for a night then plug it back in, if the issue isn’t resolved contact the Eufy customer support on their website they offer a live chat for further assistance.
